Viaja sin salir de casa gracias a Instagram

Las redes sociales han mejorado nuestras vidas. Ahora es posible mantener el contacto con nuestros amigos de la infancia o con compañeros a los que de otra forma les perderías la pista cuando cambian vuestros lugares de residencia. Además, gracias a ellas podemos presumir de nuestros viajes colgando fotografías de los lugares más idílicos que visitamos para dar envidia a nuestros contactos. Instagram es una de las redes sociales que más de moda están en la actualidad. Cualquiera puede convertirse en un buen fotógrafo gracias a la infinidad de filtros que hay en su catálogo. Pero, ¿y si te dijéramos que gracias a Instagram también puedes conocer todos los rincones del mundo sin salir de casa?

En Instagram hay fotografías capturadas en casi cualquier parte del mundo. Basta con hacer una búsqueda por hashtags para viajar por todo el planeta sentado cómodamente en el sofá. Si quieres ver algún lugar concreto con una pequeña búsqueda te será suficiente, pero si lo que quieres es que te sorprendan lo único que debes hacer es saber a qué instagrammer seguir. Happy Independence Day Jordan! Wishing all my Jordanian friends all the best on their national holiday. Jordan is one of my favourite places in the world and for good reason. While the historic sites are breathtaking and natural beauty is out of this world, it truly is the people that make the country so special. I always look forward to the next time I'm able to visit and run another photo tour there. Getting my tour groups the unique opportunity to capture unique images like this one of the Monastery in Petra is part of the overall life experience that I'm proud to share with people on my @dreamphototours. I'm not sure what I like more; being there in some of the most amazing places on the planet, or seeing the expressions on people's faces as they experience the majestic beauty of Jordan for the first time. Getting the chance to photograph this two-thousand-year-old site under the stars with just my tour participants (and no one else) was one of the best photography moments of my life. On May 25, 1946, the end of the British Mandate over Transjordan was approved by the UN. On that date, Transjordan became an independent sovereign state as the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan. In 1948, it was renamed the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Once again… Happy Birthday, Jordan! #shareyourjordan

The other day I mentioned I took a 9 mile hike to visit an ice cave in the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. This was the result of of the 9 mile hike through the mountains to get there.

Paris, Animated from a single JPG This is a really cool new way to take any JPG and create a moving picture out of it. If you look closely (it may take a moment to load depending on your speed), you'll see the clouds moving and the movement reflected in the puddle. It's called a "Plotagraph" and I have a big writeup on the blog today at StuckInCustoms.com that talks more about the process. Soon, I'll do a Facebook Live broadcast to show how fun and easy it is! You may note that it's quite different than how a cinemagraph is created because with this you simply can use any JPG from your back catalog. There's no need for video files or any "new" photos… It's a web service, so it works on any computer.

I heard once that you can feel more & enjoy more in 1 mile on foot than 100 in a motorized car. I figured after all my years driving around the valley loop it would be good to finally use my own two feet & see what the 13 mile loop had to offer. This was the highlight – a young buck stands in front of a legendary black oak in the shade of the historic Half Dome. . Slowing down has its perks??
