Justin Timberlake, destrozado: Recuerda la muerte de Bill Withers

Justin Timberlake ha querido rendir homenaje a Bill Withers, cantante de soul que falleció el pasado 3 de abril, a los 81 años, debido a problemas cardíacos, del que sentía y siente una gran admiración.

El exintegrante de NSYNC se pronunció sobre la partida del cantante de ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ a través de sus redes sociales, y solo tuvo palabras de elogio y agradecimiento hacia el que consideró un maestro de la música.

 “Siempre serás uno de mis grandes ídolos”, dijo Timberlake en una publicación en su perfil de Instagram en la que incluía varias fotografías junto a Withers. “Me enseñaste mucho sobre cómo mantenerlo simple y real. Sentí un parentesco contigo, incluso antes de conocernos”, añadió.

Para Justin Timberlake, el intérprete de ‘Lean On Me’ fue una fuente de inspiración gracias a su propuesta íntima, capaz de tocar su sensibilidad. “Tus palabras, tus melodías, los acordes que los acompañaron alcanzaron mi alma y me hablaron tan profundamente. Eso es lo hizo tu música. Nos acercó”, afirmaba.

Complicaciones cardíacas causaron el cese de la leyenda del soul, quien tuvo una carrera breve pero singular, casi limitada a la década de 1970. Withers se hizo un sitio en el soul, gracias a su mirada personal e íntima que conquistaba a su público de una manera especial. “No soy un virtuoso, pero fui capaz de escribir canciones con las que la gente se podía identificar”, resumía en una entrevista con Rolling Stone en 2015.
