Jordan Chiles is proving that a strong skincare and makeup routine can be just as essential as perfecting a vault. Her skincare and makeup routine has become a key part of how she maintains her signature Olympic glam, even through sweat and emotional moments. And as someone whose face is on display while flipping, twisting, and landing under bright lights, she knows exactly what works for her.

The Team USA gymnast shared every step of her process, offering a closer look at how she preps her skin and builds a long-lasting look that stays put throughout competition days. Without revealing everything upfront, she explained that each step has a purpose, especially when her routine must survive hours of training, big-stage pressure and the excitement of competition.

What Jordan Chiles includes in her 30-step beauty routine

Chiles breaks her regimen into two parts: a detailed eight-step skincare ritual and a 26-step makeup routine built around her favorite products. She begins with skin prep, starting with a cleanser and toner before moving into three different serums — including one formulated for the under-eye area. After that, she applies moisturizer, sunscreen and finishes with eye patches, keeping everything in a specific order to help her makeup sit smoothly.

According to her, this part of the routine has become something she genuinely enjoys. She even reflected on how embracing beauty took time for her, but now she sees it as a meaningful part of her day.

Once her skin is prepped, she moves into the makeup phase — a 26-step process using 15 essential products. She includes foundation, concealer, multiple primers, eyeshadows, lip oils, liners, blush, contour and eyebrow products. While the routine sounds intricate, she explains that there are specific elements she relies on to keep her glam competition-ready.

Primer is one of her most crucial steps. For Chiles, it’s non-negotiable because her makeup must hold up through sweat and inevitable tears — whether they’re celebratory or emotional. To enhance her look further, she pays special attention to the eye area. She applies eyeshadow primer, then adds concealer and setting powder in the inner corners to brighten her eyes under the strong arena lights.

Chiles’ routine isn’t just about products — it’s also about timing. She usually has a few hours between practice and competition to get ready. Half of that window goes to resting, showering and grabbing a meal, while the remaining time is dedicated to glam. It’s a rhythm she has refined as she prepares for her second Olympic Games, and she now feels fully confident in what works for her.

How her routine reflects her confidence

Chiles described to Vogue that this routine is a part of her identity — a way to enjoy the moment and embrace her confidence. She now sees beauty as something empowering, a daily ritual she looks forward to rather than something she feels pressured to maintain. And as she competes once again on the world’s biggest stage, she brings not only her athletic talent but the full strength of the person she’s grown into.

In the end, Jordan Chiles’ 30-step routine is more than glam — it’s her way of stepping into each competition with focus, joy and a sense of control.
